MURRIETA ---- A 49-year-old man was found guilty Thursday of molesting two young sisters at his home in Murrieta.

Gilbert Simental was accused of molesting a then-9-year-old girl in 2005 and her 10-year-old sister in 2006.

It took less than a day for jurors to find him guilty of three counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14.

The jury also found true an allegation that he had multiple victims. He faces 45 years to life when he is sentenced May 23 by Judge F. Paul Dickerson.

The emotional reading of the verdict was attended by the girls and their mother.

While testifying in his own defense Tuesday, Simental confessed to molesting the younger sister but continued to deny touching her sibling during a pool party/sleepover at his home.

"Mr. Simental is now facing the rest of his life in prison because of the courage of these little girls," Deputy District Attorney Burke Strunsky said.

Mr Simental will have a very long time to reflect on what he did to these children, the rest of his life it seems. He is going where all such sexual predators should end up - locked away for life.

This man was protected by his church, and that also is sinful.

Glad justice has been served.

I had a family memeber molested and the first thing our elders told us to do was to call the police immediately. We have a legal department at our New York headquearters who instruct us to immediately report this sort of thing to the authorities that minute! Something was not handled right and has therefore led to our organization now being classified as those who offer protection to pedophiles and this is not the case for the most part. It is unfortunate that this case was handled in this manner. It has now made it difficult on the rest of us who are confronted by justifiably angry people.

I still can't began to understand how these Elders didn't report this to the law!!
I'm sure this predator was sitting in the local Kingdom hall picking out his future victims!

Where is the protection for the children?
Do they warn you if a accused molester is in your hall?
SO SCARY!!!

Look out for these evil people wrote on Apr 19, 2008 12:49 PM:What really concerns me is my family lives in Roripaugh Hills. There was someone in our neighborhood who was on the Megan's Law website. He is off the site but he is still in the neighborhood. Is he reformed? This is scary, I feel my children could be in danger of this predator. I think he shoud move out of the area or at least be put back on the site.
