OCEANSIDE ---- Oceanside police are asking for the public's help in finding a 56-year-old woman with bipolar disorder and head injuries who disappeared Tuesday after leaving a mental health clinic in downtown San Diego.
The woman, Donna Johnson, has a history of disappearing and wandering long distances and may be trying to walk home to Oceanside, police Sgt. Kelan Poorman said. She was last seen at New Vista Crisis Center at 734 10th Ave. in San Diego, where she had received a lodging pass for a downtown hotel she never reached.
Johnson's son had been arrested earlier in the month for battering her, and she had two staples in her head from the injuries, Poorman said. Johnson is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall and 130 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call Detective Randy Markham at (760) 801-1249 or Oceanside police dispatch, (760) 435-4911.
