WILDOMAR: Wildomar council to review holiday schedule

WILDOMAR ---- The City Council is scheduled to take another look at the city's holiday schedule when it meets Wednesday.
The council meets at 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room at David A. Brown Middle School, 21861 Grand Ave.
During last week's incorporation meeting, the council adopted a holiday schedule that lists 11 city holidays; a list that differs from both the federal and California holiday schedule.
California marks the birthdays of Presidents Lincoln and Washington and union leader Cesar Chavez as holidays. Wildomar's list combines Lincoln and Washington's birthdays into a President's Day holiday and there is no recognition of Chavez' birthday.
The federal list does not mark the day after Thanksgiving as a holiday while Wildomar's list does.
The council is meeting at the middle school rather than at Elsinore High School, where it has previously met, because the school's theater was booked, according to Wildomar City Councilwoman Bridgette Moore.
In other business, the council is scheduled to appoint representatives to various regional boards.
