WILDOMAR: "Equiplex" letter on Wildomar agenda
By The Californian | ∞
WILDOMAR ---- The Wildomar City Council is scheduled Wednesday to consider giving its support of a proposed "equiplex" project, a multiuse facility that could include equestrian facilities, shops and hotels.
The city's interim administration is asking the council to authorize a letter voicing its favorable outlook on the project to John M. Flice, the chief operating officer of Equiplex LLC.
A Web search reveals a document that includes details of an Equiplex pitch tailored for the Great Park in Irvine. That version featured a high-end equestrian park with 10 outdoor arenas and three indoor arenas, with space for 640 horses in 16 barns.
The proposal also called for two to four anchor stores, restaurants and boutique hotels.
The draft letter before the council says Equiplex representatives met with members of the council-elect months ago. The council-elect officially became the City Council when Wildomar became a city July 1.
"The project is clearly unique and could not be a better fit for our community," according to the draft.
The council meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday at David A. Brown Middle School, 21861 Grand Ave.

And where and when was all of the council’s required public discussion of this matter? If they have enough of the project's details to write a supportive letter, shouldn’t the public have them too?

The Orange County Great Park project won't be on the list - it was shelved.
