REGION: Chargers bus service to resume in San Diego, not North County
By North County Times | ∞
SAN DIEGO ---- According to the San Diego Chargers, the San Diego Metropolitan Transit Administration has received temporary approval to run shuttle service to some upcoming home football games.
However, it doesn't appear North County riders will get their service back.
Tom Lichterman, a director at the North County Transit District, which operates all local Breeze bus service, said the approval does not apply to local Chargers service from North County to Qualcomm Stadium.
The transit district recently canceled Chargers bus service along Interstate 15 after a new federal rule prohibited offering service at a premium price.
The district has added special Chargers service on its Coaster commuter trains, which will be available to serve Saturday's pre-season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.
