MENIFEE ---- Paloma Valley High School began classes Tuesday, welcoming back a similar number of students compared with last year, officials said.
Enrollment at the high school in Menifee is 3,109 students this week, said Diane Pursley of the principal's office. Administrators expect to see more children being signed up for classes in the next few weeks, especially those students who are new to the area, she added.
Perris Union High School District officials said the school had about 3,200 students by October of last year.
At another area high school in the district, Heritage High in Romoland, 1,920 students are enrolled in the ninth through 11th grades, Principal Grant Bennett said. The school opened in 2007 and will have a complete range of grade levels next year, he said.
