MILITARY: Artillery shelling set for Camp Pendleton
By North County Times | ∞
CAMP PENDLETON ---- Be prepared to hear a lot of booms from Camp Pendleton during the next few days.
The noise stems from artillery units conducting live-fire exercises Tuesday through the end of the work week, base officials said Monday.
Shells will be fired into designated areas starting this morning and continuing through Friday afternoon, according to the base announcement.

Both I and the next door neighbor were wandering around outside with flashlights checking to see if the electric transformers or our hot water heaters exploded. I didn't read the article until after I came back inside.

I thought it was sonic booms until I found out about the artillery testing.
