OCEANSIDE ---- Two juveniles suffered gunshot wounds Friday night at Sonoma Coast Apartments, 180 Canyon Drive, authorities reported.

Both were airlifted to trauma centers, Oceanside police Lt. Leonard Mata said. The shooting was reported at 9:46 p.m.

"No suspects have been arrested or identified," Mata said.

Teenagers who live in a Sonoma Coast apartment across the street from the scene reported hearing at least four shots, and then seeing a group of 10 to 15 teenagers running toward Mission Avenue. No other details were available.

Gangs wrote on Aug 23, 2008 2:41 PM:I was sitting in a restauarnt a couple a days ago and a couple mentioned they were thinking of moving to oceanside. The couple across from the table heard and said why would you want to move to oceanside it has the worst gang problem in So Cal. Told them to mave to Carlsbad but stay as far away from oc as possible. Sad something more cannot be done about the gang problem.

I know it is not the only answer but management has to take some responsibility for it's "law abiding" rent payers. You are right "Gangs" - move to Carlsbad not Oceanside and certainly not in that area of Oceanside. Sonoma Coast is not what it is advertised to be - check out the rental website.
