ESCONDIDO: Border Patrol agents nab attempted-murder suspect

By North County Times | Wednesday, August 27, 2008 8:23 PM PDT

ESCONDIDO ---- Border Patrol agents have arrested a 35-year-old Guatemalan man wanted for attempted murder, an agency spokesman said Wednesday.

About 7 a.m. on Tuesday, agents patrolling in rural Escondido apprehended several people who ran from an approaching Border Patrol car, spokesman Agent Mark Endicott said.

Records showed one of the people, Alonso Juaquin Andres, had a 2003 arrest warrant for attempted murder and mayhem issued by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, Endicott said.

Andres, who had been previously deported in 2001, was turned over to local law enforcement.

With the utter chaos, rampant violence, threats from cartel hit-men, and mayhem that has been going on at the border, it's time to station more BP agents and armed troops along the entire border. Plus, ICE needs to conduct more workplace raids to remove illegal aliens from our workforce and instill fear in those who are lurking in our communities and neighborhoods.

Our quality of life is threatened in a very pervasive way, and I HAVE HAD ENOUGH. The time is now to arrest and put criminal illegal aliens in prison, and deport the rest immediately.

I wonder if this was the incident. By the way I saw a show about driving without a license in England. Drive without a license there and they will stake out your house and actively pursue you (they wait for you to get in the vehicle and start driving). Your car gets seized and you have 7 days to pay the fine (stiff) to get it out. Past 7 days the car is shredded or sold.

I am sorry but this is wrote on Aug 28, 2008 7:04 AM:not even funny anymore, Border Patrol needs to conduct neighborhood by neighborhood raids. Call your lawmakers tell them if they want to see McCain or Obama as President they better do something now. It is nice the Democrats in Congress are pushing for more raids, but we need the Republicans to join in.

Alonzo ashamed wrote on Aug 28, 2008 8:07 AM:Every! Every time I read the paper and watch the news almost all of the reported crimes have a latino name attached to them. If my latino activist brothers and sisters really cared about us they would stop crying like little babies about how bad the Americanos treat us and do something about latinos commiting so many crimes. Illegal is illegal and when we can't respect the laws, they will not respect us. I am a US citizen and proud. I served in the US Army. I tell illegal aliens to go back to their own countries and stop bringing shame on latinos.

Alonzo wrote on Aug 28, 2008 9:04 AM:Thank you for your miltary service. Nothing for you to be ashamed about.

Two Time Loser wrote on Aug 28, 2008 9:45 AM:What is particularly troubling about this incidence is that this individual had an outstanding warrant for MURDER and was previously deported. Is this the day laborer you want doing your yard work? We have to do a better job than this at making certain criminal illegal aliens don't slip through the cracks of our legal system. Do your part and don't hire them, you may be putting your families lives at risk.

Excuse me Mr. wrote on Aug 28, 2008 12:37 PM:Border Patrol Agent, we need you in the City of Escondido, not in the rural sections. As Federal Agents walk down our streets and demand ID from everyone.

To Excuse me Mr. wrote on Aug 28, 2008 3:11 PM:Better yet, why don't we string concertina wire around the entire city, have the police control all entrances into the city and check everyones I.D. as they come in? This is America, we could do this if we put our minds to it!

Dennis wrote on Aug 28, 2008 10:07 PM:Call to Arms, gee what do you need people. Either I start to be able to carry my .38 or bring in the National Gaurd. Did I hurt your free loving sprit. As far as I'm feeling we need a border patrol sub station in town. How about the old Escondido police station after the move to CCPKWY and Decature !! Is there not a legal Mexican left that I can turn to as a friend?? Please dont bump me NCTimes I would like an answer to that. Crime has got to go!!!

Sam wrote on Aug 29, 2008 1:19 AM:America is addicted to cheap labor. When was the last time you boycotted a corporation because they gave great deals on goods, produce, houses, cars, etc. Did any of you so loving Americans boycott any company's that sent their jobs over seas in order to keep your bills low or did you not mind because your bill would have gone up $10. The next time you buy something look where it came from you might find made in China,India,Japan,Korea,Mexico, even your produce it might be grown here but I can guarantee that cheap labor was behind it so you wouldn't complain why.

Patriot wrote on Aug 29, 2008 8:31 AM:But Dubya said these are just good hearted folks coming here to do jobs Americans won't do, to put food on the table for their families.

Dictionary wrote on Aug 29, 2008 2:07 PM:Thorndike Barnhart Dictionary defintion for the word Patriot.

Patriot: person who loves and loyally supports his country.

That definition talks about love and loyalty.

Love: strong or passionate affections for a person

Loyal: faithful to love, promise or duty

No where in any of those definitions does it tie the word Patriot to the word sarcasm or hate or prejudice or judgemental.

Sarcasm: a sneering or cutting remark; ironical taunt

Hate: dislike very strongly

Prejudice: opinion formed without taking time and care to judge fairly

Judgemental: criticism; condemnation

So, WHEN people use the word Patriot, they should use it when the are expressing love and loyalty for their country. NOT when they are expressing sarcasm and hate and prejudice and judgements towards/about HUMAN BEINGS that have crossed the border illegally.

Now, before you respond - consider this: There are plenty of legal U.S. citizens that break the law - plenty that kill, lie, cheat, steal, etc...And we know that there are plenty of illegal immigrants that are guilty of the same.

When I was a miltary dependent, the civilians use to say all the GI's were after one thing and one thing only. I never believed it and it was upsetting to hear people stereo-type. Actually, most young people are looking "for someone special" and they DATE. But, the reason I found for the "finger pointing" at the GI's was the fact that they were an identifiable group. People could point their fingers at the short-haired-GI-looking type guy and say "Hey, that GI is trying to date my little sister".

When we describe someone to another, we tend to do so in a physical descriptive way. Many believe that these descriptions are quite racist and exaggerated.

Something to think about.

In closing, please try to use the word Patriot when you are expressing love for your country, not when you are expressing hate towards an illegal immigrant!

Sam wrote on Aug 29, 2008 10:08 PM:Sure cheap labor exist just ask the multi million dollar company's. I know you might not see it Harry but then again your not a millionaire, you must have a crappy life and its just easier to blame others since you dont want to take responsibility.

all you are funny wrote on Sep 3, 2008 12:53 AM:is that how bad the racism has become. well everyone should be after all the darn president is. so when you say raid every house does that include yours as well. do you know what a raid is like? no soft knock at the door and no politely ?s more get on the floor shut up and put your hands on your head. honestly you can hate mexicans all you want because the ones that pay are your own selfs cause there will alwayse be that little pain in your souls when you keep seeing them drive by and some with some nice cars. so keep hating and even though you catch a few there are a whole lot many more to go. god bless atleast pray that he does with that hate for another human in you.

To All you are funny wrote on Sep 8, 2008 11:26 PM:I could care less if they raided my house. I have nothing to worry about. I take it you have something to be paranoid about since you obviously know what its like to have your place raided. The only reason why they drive nice cars is because they pile the whole family into one house in which there an illegal amount of people in that most likely 2 bedroom apartment and well everyone can save up cash for their nice cars. They most likely dont have a drivers license. No im not hating, im telling the truth. If they dont belong here then they need to leave. Obviously they arent giving themselves a good rep anyways. Gangs, all of the shootings that have been gang related, unlicensed drivers and whatnot. You can call me a racist if you like. I know and alot of people on here could agree that paying an extra 60 or 70 dollars for uninsured motorists is rediculious. And who usually isnt uninsured and driving without a license in Escondido???? Latinos. So, illegals need to leave or ....
