Partisan politics in non-partisan races
By: Rusty | ∞
Oh, gee... Partisan politics rolls through North County in what is supposed to be a nonpartisan contest -- Oh well, yes, OK. If that's what they say at least.
Is it just this old boy, or is any one else bothered by the fact our man in Washington and one of North County's two leading Republican officials, Darrell Issa, is endorsing a candidate for the county board of supervisors?
County supes don't run on party platforms, nor do they run as part of a party slate or ticket yet we see Bruce Thompson touting Issa's backing as he did Monday in this piece published Tuesday, Supervisor candidate touts Issa support.
Come on guys, let's leave the GOP one-up-manship to the races that feature party battles for nominations and that kind of stuff. If you don't care for incumbent Fifth District Supervisor Bill Horn, go after him on the issues and not sniping about whether he is enough of a Republican, which is the aroma that really circles around this Issa endorsement.
