Both were named to the all-tournament team of the 10th annual San Diego Fall Classic as the Lancers lost to eventual champion Poway in the semifinals.

Rancho Buena Vista ---- Boys cross country

He won his 3.1-mile race at the Las Vegas Invitational in 16 minutes, 50 seconds to help the Longhorns capture the team championship.

Rachel Morris

Carlsbad ---- Girls golf

The USC-bound junior shot a 5-under-par 31 in a tri-meet in which the Lancers split. The next day she shot a 37 in a loss to La Costa Canyon.

Tyler Gaffney

Cathedral Catholic ---- Football

The senior running back carried 20 times for 186 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-10 nonleague win over Point Loma.

Jacob Pril

Fallbrook ---- Water polo

He scored 35 goals in six games, including 30 during the Poway Invitational in which the Warriors placed third.

Oceanside ---- Football

The junior recorded three sacks and also returned an interception 22 yards as Oceanside beat rival El Camino 34-12.

He rushed for 71 yards on four carries and also caught one pass for 51 yards to go along with three touchdowns in an Eagles win.

Rancho Buena Vista ---- Water polo

Penney scored 19 goals for the Longhorns as they went 5-1. He also recorded 10 assists.

La Costa Canyon ---- Football

The junior tailback rushed eight times for 96 yards with TD runs of 6 and 57 yards in a 52-3 win over Carlsbad.

Cathedral Catholic ---- Girls cross country

She won the Division II race at Saturday's Bronco Invitational, covering the 2-mile Kit Carson Park Course in 12:18.08.

Escondido ---- Football

The junior running back duo led the way in a 48-0 win over Orange Glen. Seale rushed 17 times for 180 yards with TDs of 1, 11 and 37 yards. Zier rushed seven times for 155 yards with a 90-yard TD and a 7-yard TD reception.

Stanton Upson

Valley Center ---- Football

The junior tailback carried the ball 21 times for 154 yards and a 32-yard TD run in a 34-7 win over La Jolla.

Eric Bowcock

San Pasqual ---- Football

The quarterback rushed 10 times for 130 yards with TD runs of 16 and 51 yards. He also completed 3-of-5 passes for 60 yards in a win over Rancho Bernardo.

Mission Hills ---- Football

The senior running back carried 12 times for 94 yards, caught a 31-yard TD pass and returned a kickoff 94 yards for a TD in a 26-14 nonleague win over rival San Marcos.

The junior setter was named the MVP of the 10th annual San Diego Fall Classic for the second time after helping the Titans to a second straight championship with a 25-17, 25-20 win over Cathedral Catholic in the finals.

The senior outside hitter was named to the all-tournament team of the 10th annual San Diego Fall Classic after helping the Titans win the championship for a second straight year with a 25-17, 25-20 win over Cathedral Catholic in the finals.

Rancho Bernardo ---- Girls cross country

The sophomore won the Division I race at the Bronco Invitational in 11:06.51 for two miles, setting a Kit Carson Park course record. She broke the old mark by 31 seconds.

Kenneth Raedel

San Pasqual ---- Boys cross country

He won the Division I race at the Bronco Invitational, covering the 2-mile course at Kit Carson Park in 10:03.03.

Kyle Broxterman

Escondido Charter ---- Boys cross country

He won the Division II race at the Bronco Invitational, covering the 2-mile course at Kit Carson Park in 10:13.03, the third-fastest time of the day.

Lacey Smyth

San Marcos ---- Tennis

The junior went 9-0, sweeping her matches against Poway, Rancho Buena Vista and Ramona.

Maddie Bouvier

Westview ---- Tennis

The No. 2 singles player for the Wolverines went 7-0, winning her first match versus Vista 6-2, 6-0, 6-3, followed by a 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Scripps Ranch and a 6-4, 6-0 win over Valley Center.

St. Joseph's ---- Girl's volleyball

The duo led the Crusaders in two wining two matches as Rachel recorded 10 aces and Monique recorded 13. Monique also had 25 kills in the two wins.

Jake McKinney

Maranatha Christian ---- Football

The quarterback scored on offense (39-yard run), defense (66-yard interception return), special teams (79-yard punt return), and also threw two touchdowns in a win.

Jayce Hensley

Escondido ---- Water polo

He scored 33 goals and recorded eight assists as the Cougars went 5-1.
