VALLEY CENTER ---- A woman and her husband were tied up by armed robbers who broke into their home Sunday night, sheriff's officials said.

Shortly after 9 p.m., deputies were called to a residence in the 10000 block of Pala Road, Lt. Bill Donahue said Monday.

The female victim told investigators Latino men armed with pistols had broken into the home and tied her and her husband up, Donahue said.

The couple freed themselves and the robbers fled the scene, he said.

No information was available about what, if anything, was taken during the robbery.

Is Someone wrote on Sep 29, 2008 10:23 AM:going to start enforcing the law on and close to the Pala Reservation? People getting killed, robbed and now this? I think as a Soveriegn Nation they should clean it up or we, the US, invade with the National Guard and clean it up!

It is time for wrote on Sep 29, 2008 10:38 AM:law enforcement to lighten the restrictions on carrying concealed weapons. I mean might as well as a lot of people are tired of waiting and are walking around armed NOW.

1) you must make sure the deed is done.
2) they have a weapon.
3) they are actually in your house.
4) you feared for your life and loved ones.

Greg in Oceanside wrote on Sep 30, 2008 6:31 AM:More crime committed by Latinos. Who's surprised? I'm not, and this is not the end. As long as we have gangs and the steady stream of illegal aliens from Mexico and beyond coming here, we're going to experience a disproportionate amount of crime committed by Latinos.

This is a part of their culture. If you don't believe me, look at the rampant violence that is happening down in Mexico.

As a concerned citizen I've had enough. And like Dirty Harry I'm ready for any of these scum to try this stuff with me and my home.

To By the book wrote on Sep 30, 2008 7:10 AM:Duh, if someone breaks into your house when you are at home they have already instilled fear. It's not like they are busting down your door to clean your house or cook you dinner. I say shoot em! I know I would.

Rawkitfuel wrote on Sep 30, 2008 8:19 AM:The Castle Doctrine is not yet the law in California, but you won't be faulted for standing your ground. I'd rather be judged by 12, than carried by 6. Obviously you don't need a CCW while you're inside your house and open carry is legal with some restrictions like school zones and post offices. Shooting outside is not against the law; you still have a right to self defense. Hopefully California will become a CCW "shall issue" state instead of "may issue". Protect your 2nd Ammendment Right.

Or another off duty cop who thinks he's superman and chases drunk drivers after his shift...then get scared when he sees a real big black man?

Freedom of the Press wrote on Sep 30, 2008 10:51 AM:To Tijuana Juan...I really don't concur with your post of 7:06 am. Nobody, especially me, is trying to "hide " behind a computer. We are, merely, expressing our thoughts and opinions.
I realize by your moniker that you don't have that right because if you did you would end up in a vacant lot.

Patrick wrote on Sep 30, 2008 11:05 AM:My kids ask me occassionally, "Daddy, what will happen if someone breaks in the house?" I tell them, don't worry, they won't last long and they won't get away to do it to someone else either...the kids understand what I mean.

Oh and to “tijuana juan”, you are right. You don’t know what you are going to do in a situation like that. Everybody would like to think they would behave like Dirty Harry, but that just aint how it is. Whatever happens, I guarantee you will be shaking afterwards.

Greg in Oceanside wrote on Sep 30, 2008 1:14 PM:Don't worry TJ Juan, I hit what I aim for, whether it's in the same room or 500 meters away.

The USMC taught me good and I have the expert badges to prove it. And my MOUT (Military Ops in Urban Terrain), and martial arts training will certainly help (if it came to that).

TruthBeKnown wrote on Oct 10, 2008 9:22 AM:If you look at the article it says "Valley Center" the road is named Pala Rd. I am very familar with the Pala Reservation and there is no road called Pala Road. There is a road called Pala Road over by the old dairies off HWY 76, and is NOT on the Pala Reservation. You have to remember that the information you find or hear through the media is not always accurate. The Pala Reservation is no different than the cities and neighborhoods in town. Every city has violence, robberies, etc. everyday.
