Bentley honored for counseling work
OCEANSIDE ---- Donald Bentley, a licensed psychotherapist, has been selected by Ceridian Corp. as one of six mental health professionals who have demonstrated the best in providing counseling for service members and their families through the Military OneSource program.
The six therapists from different regions throughout the country were taken to Arlington, Va., from Sept. 18-19 for the first Top Gun Provider Advisory Group Meeting. They are part of a network of 8,000 professionals who provide free short-term counseling to military members and families.
This counseling is for non-psychiatric issues such as marital conflict, and not for serious illness such as depression or post-traumatic stress disorder.
Military OneSource is a free 24-hour service provided by the Department of Defense to all active duty, Guard, and Reserve members and their families. MainStreet Oceanside hires executive director
OCEANSIDE ---- MainStreet Oceanside has appointed Kim Kimball to the position of executive director.
Kimball comes to Oceanside from San Luis Obispo County. A native of California's Central Coast, she is formerly the CEO of the Morro Bay Chamber of Commerce and executive director of Visitor Services for the city of Morro Bay.Â
Mejia joins Dot Hill
CARLSBAD ---- Richard Mejia has joined Carlsbad's Dot Hill, a data storage company, as a director. Mejia was a veteran analyst of San Diego life sciences at Ernst & Young, from which he recently retired.
Haddad chosen as SD Regional Chamber chairman
Ben Haddad, partner at California Strategies, has been chosen chairman of the board for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. The chamber represents business interests in all of San Diego County.
In addition, the chamber selected Tom Wornham, executive vice president and regional manager of Wells Fargo Bank, as board chairman-elect for 2009.
Martini now a partner at B2B CFO
MURRIETA ---- Thomas J. Martini has become a partner at B2B CFO, a company that provides chief financial officer services to small- and mid-sized companies. Martini will work with companies in Southern California.
A B2B partner is a business adviser who functions like an attorney or accountant, working for a company on a long-term basis.
Martini has more than 30 years of experience, including strategic financial planning, risk management, banking relations and credit negotiations, Sarbanes/Oxley compliance, budgeting, forecasting and staff development.
