ENCINITAS: Environmental awareness event planned

ENCINITAS ---- Folks can learn proper composting techniques, get advice on how to get tax credits for solar panels and contemplate environmentally friendly transportation options at a Green Awareness Expo this weekend.

The free event is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Cardiff Elementary School, 1888 Montgomery Ave.

Information on building materials, drought-tolerant landscaping and recycling will be offered. Children's activities also are planned.

The event will benefit the Cardiff Chamber and the Cardiff Education Foundation.
