By North County Times | ∞
RANCHO BERNARDO ---- Armed robbers made off Monday with an undisclosed amount of cash from a Bernardo Center Drive bank, police said.
Shortly before 5 p.m., three to four men walked into Pacific Western Bank and demanded that bank employees drop to the ground, Sgt. Bob Dare said.
The robbers, armed with handguns, demanded that money be placed in a bag and then fled with the loot, Dare said. Some of the money was found nearby after an anti-robbery dye pack in the money exploded and the robbers threw the bag out of the car, he said.
The getaway car is described as a white with paper license plates, possibly a Lexus IS300.
The robbers are said to be black men who were wearing dark clothing and covered their faces with black bandanas. One robber wore a "Scream" mask, police said.
The San Diego Police Department is investigating.
