Entertainment out of focus
I wonder if the entertainment industry realizes it is its own greatest nemesis. The industry has plummeted from entertaining us with creativity to shocking us with stupidity. Its digging its own sparkly grave. Post your Comments
Not such a Small World after all
If you happen to visit the happiest place on Earth this holiday season, make your way to Disneyland's most blatant snub to energy conservation -- the It's A Small World ride, which during this time of year has enough lights to be seen from space. I only recommend taking a trip on this boat ride of world peace because come 2008 the boats are docking. Why? Because our rear ends are just too big for this world. 11 comment(s)
Taking it off the streets
First it was Street Scene ... then Parking Lot Scene ... then Fairground Scene -- no wait -- Arena Scene. Can we still call one of the best music festivals in San Diego "Street Scene" with a straight face? 8 comment(s)
They're back! Who cares?
Seems that while hubby Becks has been warming the bench for the LA Galaxy, Posh and the rest of the Spice Girls are gearing up for a reunion. And in the category of "When did they break up?" is the recently announced reunion tour of Van Halen, Diamond Dave and all. So does anyone really give a hoot? OK, maybe the pending train wreck of Mr. Roth could be tempting. But the Spice Ladies (c'mon, they're no longer girls) haven't been off the charts long enough to garner any nostalgia. Heck, most people who listened to them the first time go 'round aren't even due for their 10-year high school reunion yet. 1 comment(s)
What's the worst Harry could do?
The countdown to the last Harry Potter is stirring up a cauldron of hype and every news source ( including this one) is asking readers to submit their theories of how the final battle between Mr. Potter and He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named will end. I admit that I have my own (involves Harry being the final horcrux and giving the ultimate sacrifice to defeat ol' Voldemort). But I want to know what is the worst way that the boy with the bolt's story could end? Will he wake up and realize it was all a dream? Good God, I hope not. Muggles, have at it! 9 comment(s)

Have the community planners thought about this before they approve another 500+ housing community? I doubt it. Gas is scarce, water is scarce, while cars and houses with lawns are more than plentiful...

Jake your point is well taken. Did Calvary Chapel take issue with other nearby business' that also sell the same products? If they did not then we should wonder why Mr. Singh's business is being singled out in particular. It sounds unfair and fishy.

Yes, itŐs time to unite & grow up people. This is one of ways the human race will survive, so taking these kinds of steps in schools helps, and protect our kids, even the racistŐs kids, from getting beat up.

Let's break out the Champagne, pop the cork, welcome that Marine home, and welcome Denisse. I can't believe that anyone who has truly known what it's like to love someone could ever be so crass as some of the comments I've read. Geeze! It's almost Valentine's Day. Bunch of Scrooges with no heart.

Wow, I'd live to take this tour. I've always wanted to leave America and go live in France. Unfortunately, I had some difficulty learning the language. It is a beautiful language and beautiful country. I'll have to put this on my list of things to do before I die.

I'm against the toll road because (A) I think the money could be better used elsewhere, (B) San Mateo Creek is a pristine habitat that should be preserved. However, I've been surfing San Onofre and Upper and Lower Trestle since the early 1960s. That road won't affect the break, just the stupid little context stage they have set up. Also, the whole Save the Trestle movement has been blown out-of-control.

I always thought the county could be better served by a new commuter train for the inland area, instead of a commuter train bringing those folks to the coast.
A "coaster" like train residing between North and South bound traffic lanes of the 15 freeway would be expensive, but would do a lot to aid in the daily congestion.

I agree Tony, fans putting LT down are shallow, at best. In my 30 plus years of cheering for San Diego teams, there have always been these type of chip-on-the-shoulder fans. I suggest they stop cheering for SD and just go with what ever team is doing best i.e. Red Sox, Yankees, Patriots, Green Bay, etc.
