    KB Thanks You Irene
for valuing and respecting America enough to immigrate legally. Welcome.

The 10:13 PM poster neglected to mention: we're doing all this to protect Chris' freedoms :)

    Faith and Values?

While I was, understandably, thrilled to see yet another "...roar of freedom..." letter (this time by Jeffrey Holthus) it would help if writers would include, for the benefit of skeptics like Chris, an explanation of which "freedom" was protected by any war since 1812. As you have almost 200 years, and a bunch of wars, to work with, this should be an easy task. Sincerely thank you in advance.

Yes, Ms. Conde is a resident of San Marcos. I find it outrageous that she is organizing a rally to lobby our EUSD. Please go and rally your own school board, maybe you can get a TIP San Marcos started. TIP's free ride on our Encinitas taxpayers' dollars is OVER (thank goodness). All of you TIP parents who always said that you would pay private tuition for this type of education; well, it's time to put your money where your mouth is. Start a private school!

If Bill Flores is complaining about something it must be affecting illegal immigrants. This guy embodies the La Raza movement. Amazing he made it all the way to Asst. Sheriff before he retired and started working for the criminals. Thanks Bill - MORE CHECKPOINTS!!!

The call to cancel the parade was made correctly. Yes, it was dissapointing. I ride a horse. Riding on slippery wet pavement is not fun. This is completely a safety concearn.

If a kid needs ESL, let the parents pay 100% for ESL and test them before they enter school. California is spending BILLIONS on ESL.

Stop all the hysterics already and deal wtih the point of my post. You people are like a bunch of babies who can't deal with a little criticism. Read my post and address the issue instead of whining about it.

Schools cannot by law ask what the legal status of a child is before they are enrolled. But, by law must present a record of immunizations prior to a child attending their first day of school.

Let's cut through the crap cake. We all know why the schools are in a budget crisis. Until we admit the problem, public schools will continually get worse.

We moved to Oceanside when I was seven years old, and that was back in 1960!

Great OP Ed piece. There is no way to justify illegals, people try and say the system is broken. It is a system to limit immigration not a floodgate to allow every pedro juan or maria in. Just because criminals cannot get in legally they say it is broken. More groups are needed, the Minutmen do a lot more than challenge day laborers, but smaller less media blasted groups are a good way to educate your local communities about this negative problem. I enjoy daily news about another batch of illegals being arrested and sent home or to prison, it means we are finally fixing the broken part of the immigration system, the enforcement part...

Awww, I feel like I missed out! We had a family get together elsewhere that was fun as well, but next year I think I will host and get everyone to come here for the 4th. Good Job Elsinore!!

    Good article. Go, ICE.
    Godspeed
I hope others out there who are in the same position that Mr.Noreen used to be in can use this article for motivation. Some will change, some will not. But it appears that Mr.Noreen probably always had his heart on the right place until drugs took over.

To Jeff... Possibly your post says it all. Just like true California tradition if you don't like something
    Bottom Line
To TCMC Employee - Randy was on the board from 1998 to 2002 when the board was expanded from 5 to 7 members. What a mistake - the two new board members Halfon and Horton [allegedly] manipulated, and even partake in deception of facts including but not limited to setting policies that did more harm to the process of democracy. With Garrahy by their side, and the persuasion of two other board members that CEO Gonzalez should be given plenty of rope, e.g., pass policies to stifle discourse of board members, implement bonuses, recruit doctors giving them gifts of public funds - the public's attention was shifted from watching the CEO, his cronies, while Horton gleefully ate dinners with Gonzalez. Thankfully the people booed Randy and Halfon off the dais. Randy has always been a supporter for Scripps and even boasts that he will not use Tri City even though he's a mile from the hospital.
    Federal Rental Ban
I thought the Rental Ban ordinance was an excellent public policy. Congress should implement the rental ban as part of comprehensive immigration reform!

Correcting myself....the initial funding is based on our ending enrollment from the 2007-2008 school year. My apologies!

This library is starting to sound like a shrine to Egos.Where are e books going to go if all the walls are filled with names of the beholden.
    Beachgoer
900K visited San Diego beaches last 4th of July and they estimated 536K this year, a direct result of high gas prices and recession, I'll bet. And if tourism is "UP" in Temec, it's probably because of the increase in population, not tourism. Wineries, restaurants, promenade are all showing a decrease in attendance and spending. The only place that's still crowded is Pechanga, construction guys trying to double down on their unemployment checks, the elderly using social security money looking for a jackpot.

Should Barry Bonds be the Padres' next left fielder?

N) Let's put aside the fact that Barry Bonds is as likable as a toilet brush. That on the list of people you'd like to hang out with, he ranks somewhere below "rabid wolverine." That his presence is tolerated by teammates the way a bus driver accepts an outbreak of hemorrhoids. 31 comment(s)
