People on the move: Wood receives promotion

CARLSBAD -- Clinical research organization Chiltern announced the promotion of Diana Wood to global head, business development. She was previously vice president business development, North America.

Wood is based at the company's Carlsbad office.

Biocom selects panel members

SAN DIEGO -- Biocom, a biomedical trade group, has announced new members for its 2007-08 board of directors, led by Chairman Greg Lucier of Carlsbad-based Invitrogen. BioMed Realty makes changes

RANCHO BERNARDO -- BioMed Realty Trust Inc. has promoted Karen A. Sztraicher to the position of vice president, finance and treasurer. Sztraicher had served as vice president and chief accounting officer since March 2005, a position now held by Greg Lubushkin.

US Farms picks Nucci

SAN DIEGO -- US Farms Inc., a commercial farming and nursery grower with operations in North County, has hired Sam Nucci as vice president of sales and marketing of its newly formed subsidiary, Sammy's Produce Inc.

Nucci began his career at Carlsbad Tomatoes while still in high school.

SAN DIEGO -- Federal Computer Week magazine has selected Nick Macchione, San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency deputy director, as a winner of its Federal 100 award. The award honors 100 executives throughout the U.S. who had a significant impact on the government IT community in 2006.
