North County business briefs: Regency Centers sells building

RANCHO BERNARDO -- Regency Centers, a national owner, operator and developer of shopping centers anchored by grocery stores, announced the sale of a single-tenant building occupied by L.A. Fitness to White Partners Ltd. for an undisclosed sum. The property is at the northeast corner of Dove Canyon Road and Camino Del Norte.

BOMA to hold monthly luncheon

SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Building Owners & Managers Association will hold its monthly luncheon, featuring San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector Dan McAllister speaking on "2006 Tax Rates and Initiatives: The Impact on San Diego," on Tuesday at the Hyatt Regency Islandia, 1441 Quivira Road in Mission Bay. Registration is at 11:30 a.m.; the program starts at noon. 3 Blind Mice wins BBB Torch Award, owner commended

San Diego-based 3 Blind Mice Window Coverings Inc., which has representatives in Temecula, recently received the Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics from the Better Business Bureau of San Diego.

Scot Dietz, president and owner, was awarded a commendation from the office of the lieutenant governor of California. The honor was based on his contribution to the YMCAís Youth and Family Services Oz Shelters.

New members to receive 5 crapemyrtle trees

Sunstone acquires SD Marriott Del Mar

SAN DIEGO -- Sunstone Hotel Investors Inc. announced Tuesday that it has acquired the 284-room San Diego Marriott Del Mar for about $69 million.

The hotel, which opened in 2002 in San Diego's Carmel Valley/Del Mar Heights community, will continue to be managed by Marriott International.

Sunstone Hotel Investors is a San Clemente-based lodging real estate investment trust that now owns 61 hotel properties.

Cymer awards $175K in scholarships

SAN DIEGO -- Cymer Inc. announced Tuesday that it has awarded $175,000 in scholarships for students at UC San Diego's Jacobs School of Engineering, to mark the San Diego-based company's 20th anniversary.

The gift will fund a scholarship and fellowship to an undergraduate and graduate recipient selected from UCSD's top fall 2006 engineering applicants.

The selected undergraduate will receive a $100,000 scholarship over four years, and the graduate student will receive a $75,000 fellowship.

Cymer, based in Rancho Bernardo, is a supplier of deep ultraviolet light sources used in semiconductor manufacturing.
