Jaffa 'Scores' for 27 years

RANCHO BERNARDO -- Arnold Jaffa has marked 27 years as a volunteer counselor with the nonprofit help group Score.

Sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Association, the group consists of retired and working executives who give free advice and guidance to small businesses. Jaffa joined the group in 1982. In 1994, he published the booklet, "3-Step Simplified Formula for Successful Business Start-Up."

Jaffa meets one-on-one with those needing business guidance. He has lectured at UC San Diego and the University of San Diego.

Kolsrud joins Dowling & Yahnke

CARMEL VALLEY -- Racquel Kolsrud has been hired as a portfolio manager by Dowling & Yahnke LLC.

Kolsrud holds a certified financial planner designation. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Phoenix with a degree in business. Before joining Dowling & Yahnke, Kolsrud worked at Charles Schwab & Co. for 10 years in various roles.

A member of the Financial Planning Association, she is also involved as a member of the Surfrider Foundation, San Diego Chapter, and the USA Triathlon Organization. She also raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Bill Ganon gets the Verve

ENCINITAS -- Bill Ganon has been hired by Verve Wireless, a company that sells advertising on cell phones, as chief revenue officer. The company said the new position is intended to help its local partners make more money through advertising.

Ganon was most recently CEO and sole proprietor of BG Associates. Before that, he was senior vice president of advertising strategy for GoldSpot Media. He spent eight years with Qualcomm Inc.

Lozier gets certificate of excellence

POWAY -- Dr. Jeffrey Lozier, a Centre for Health Care ophthalmologist, has been awarded the MESVision Certificate of Excellence. This award is based upon feedback from patients who rated Lozier's practice as "excellent" in all surveyed categories.

MESVision is made up of two companies, The Eye Care Network Inc. and Medical Eye Services Inc.
