Made the grade

RIVERSIDE -- UC Riverside's A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management was included in The Princeton Review's 2007 edition of "Best 282 Business Schools." The two-page review of the Anderson school cited students' enthusiasm as one of its strengths.

Charitable fete

SAN DIEGO -- Wine Country restaurateurs Steve and Alicia Hamlin will be feted Friday as "sterling legends" at a banquet given by the George G. Glenner Alzheimer's Family Centers. The Hamlins established a charitable fund for patients who suffer from Alzheimer's, a debilitating nerve disease.

The couple opened Allie's at Callaway, a restaurant and catering business, in 2002. Tickets are $125. For information or to make reservations, call (619) 543-4700.

TEMECULA -- US Banker Magazine recognized Temecula Valley Bancorp, the parent company of Temecula Valley Bank, as the top-performing publicly traded bank among U.S. banks with assets of $1 billion to $10 billion. The award is based on Temecula Valley's three-year average return of 30.4 percent on shareholder equity.

Heal, whole

TEMECULA -- Jenny Wright opened Nirvana, Body, Mind and Spirit last month at 43053 Margarita Road. The holistic health-care business opened in Murrieta in early 2004, but relocated because of limited space. Nirvana offers reiki and a range of other healing arts, and occasional free psychic readings.
