A Subway restaurant in Escondido will be among 30 in Southern California to begin a four-month test beginning Jan. 20 using a telephone text-message ordering system. San Diego-based The Zingle will be providing the message systems for the sandwich shops, which will send a confirmation message.
The restaurant is at 1235 East Valley Parkway.
Subway said research showed 90 percent of its customers would go to their restaurants more often if they could text-message food orders.
