Agency, Army choose Xenonics
CARLSBAD -- Xenonics Holdings Inc. has received purchase orders totaling $1.5 million for its NightHunterII high-intensity illumination devices from the Defense Logistics Agency and the U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Division.
HUYA, Organon to collaborate
CARMEL VALLEY -- HUYA Bioscience International LLC, which has an office in Carmel Valley, and Organon have signed a collaboration agreement to source and develop biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical compounds. As part of this collaboration, Organon has acquired an equity interest in HUYA, a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing Chinese biopharmaceutical products.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Genius enters into agreement
SOLANA BEACH -- Genius Products LLC, The Weinstein Co. LLC, Entertainment Rights Plc of London and Classic Media Holdings Inc. of New York City have entered into long-term agreements to distribute and co-produce and co-finance multiple home video and video game productions for the family, children and teen markets. Genius Products, which has a corporate office in Solana Beach, will be the exclusive North American distributor of home video and certain digital media distribution rights in Classic's and ER's catalogs of children's and faith-based animated films as well as other titles and series.
IntelliDOT to work with company
CARMEL MOUNTAIN RANCH -- IntelliDOT Corp., a health care technology company based in Carmel Mountain Ranch, and Precision Dynamics Corp., which handles automatic wristband identification, have implemented a joint marketing agreement. The companies will be able to deliver to acute care facilities patient wristbands embedded with either bar code or radio frequency identification.
JMAR product to be leased
CARLSBAD -- JMAR Technologies Inc. has received a purchase order from Yorkshire Water Services Ltd. to install and test the BioSentry Water Monitoring System in a major water utility facility in the U.K.
The program, scheduled to begin later this month, will determine the effectiveness of BioSentry in detecting the presence of Cryptosporidium, a parasitic protozoan that is chlorine-resistant and can infect humans, resulting in serious illness.
Yorkshire Water will lease the BioSentry System for six months. Upon successful completion of the test period, it will have the option to buy the unit for permanent installation.
ViaSat, Inmarsat announce project
CARLSBAD -- Inmarsat, a provider of global mobile satellite communications, and ViaSat Inc., a Carlsbad-based provider of digital communications for commercial and military applications, have announced a co-funded project to develop a new mobile satellite communications terminal for the defense sector. The collaboration will provide secure and highly mobile voice and high-speed data communications to the armed forces.
