ViaSat expands relationship
CARLSBAD -- ViaSat Inc., based in Carlsbad, has expanded its relationship with WildBlue Communications through a requirements contract to supply the next 500,000 Ka-band satellite terminals to be deployed by WildBlue on its WildBlue-1 and Anik F2 satellites. Together with units already delivered, the number of terminals supplied by ViaSat is expected to exceed 750,000.
The contract, which also includes network infrastructure upgrades and software support services, could exceed $200 million over the next three to five years, depending on the market demand for WildBlue subscriber terminals.
Open Energy subsidiary installs system
SOLANA BEACH -- Open Energy Corp., based in Solana Beach, announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, WaterEye, has installed its enterprise class monitoring system for Kobelco, an environmental solutions provider in Japan.

Rotary Camp Enterprise hosts students
SAN DIEGO -- For the 32nd year, Rotary Camp Enterprise 2007 hosted 90 students chosen from more than 10,000 high school juniors around San Diego County for a business workshop that started April 12 and ended April 14.
Students spent three days at Julian's Camp Cedar Glen, with all expenses paid by the Rotary Club of San Diego. During the workshop, the students learn team-building, leadership and motivational skills by planning a real business and presenting that plan to San Diego business leaders.
