RANCHO BERNARDO -- General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has received a contract worth up to $81 million for its Reaper unmanned aerial vehicles.

The contract covers two MQ-9 Reaper UAVs and two mobile Ground Control stations.

The buyer, Italy Foreign Military Sales, has already placed $40 million in orders. Foreign Military Sales is a government-to-government method of selling American military equipment, services and training.
