The San Diego County Fair boasts Ferris wheels, funnel cakes, flower & garden shows, and a whole lot of fun. But this year it will be home to something more -- a performance by teenage Temecula rockers, My Last Revelation.

Since forming in January of 2007, My Last Revelation has seen some trying moments, including the departure of their female singer, Priscilla Drewry. But the trio has not allowed these problems to faze them, opting to triumph over them by experimenting with new sounds.

"After Priscilla left, we wanted to take the band in a new creative direction," guitarist and vocalist Jared Miller said. "We began experimenting with different styles of music, and different ways of writing. We began to develop a need to put on a good rock show; and to perform more to the best of our abilities. After Priscilla left, we also decided to become a male-fronted band."

My Last Revelation, however, refuse to dwell on the past, preferring to look to the future, and their upcoming performance at the San Diego County Fair. A performance they hope will be the start of a summer full of music.

"The Del Mar show is the perfect way to start the summer shows we have planned," bassist Kevin Hatch said. "We plan to do many shows during the summer, now that we have the time. In addition to more shows, we will also be frequently updating our MySpace page, as we continue writing and recording more music."

Snagging a performance spot at the San Diego County Fair wasn't the simplest task. Temecula's Miller, Hatch and Derrick Hatch, spent quite a bit of time poring over a sixteen-page application packet. In addition to their written application, they had to create a short, live performance video, and submit a demo of their music, just to be considered. But in their opinion, all of the time and effort was worth it.

"Honestly, at first, I didn't see us playing an event this big," Miller said. "But as time went on, and My Last Revelation progressed, I started to see that this band really had potential. We all felt more confident in ourselves. Eventually, we started to believe that we would play large events like this as we got better and better."

My Last Revelation plays Sunday at the county fair in Del Mar, on the Coors Light Rock On Stage (located next to the rides). Doors to the fair open at 10 a.m. and My Last Revelation will take the stage at 11:30 a.m. The show is free with a regular ticket admissions charge.

"We've all been to the (San Diego County Fair) at some point in our lives," Hatch said. "From what we remember, it was awesome. It's hard to run out of things to do there. It's just an exciting place overall."

The live musical performances only make it more exciting. This year, the fair will host artists Fergie, BB King, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Cartel, Grand Funk Railroad, Boston, The Guess Who, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Sugarland, KC and the Sunshine Band and many more.

Over the years, these artists have made strides in the music industry, and paved the way for emerging acts such as My Last Revelation.

While excitement is abound, My Last Revelation can't help but feel a wide array of emotions coursing through their bodies at the prospect of playing such a large-scale show. But they are determined to turn their butterflies into something more positive; such as bringing a spectacular performance to the forefront.

"We are a little nervous to be playing such a big event outside of our city, but we are just, overall, excited for it," Miller said. "We are anxious to go out there, play an incredible show, and deliver an outstanding performance."

Delivering an amazing performance may be the trio's main priority, but it's certainly not their only priority. Through their fair appearance, My Last Revelation hopes to clinch a larger fan base in the San Diego area, where they hope to play more shows in the very near future.

They'd also like to have their music heard by more people outside of their hometown comfort zone. After all, reaching as many people as possible, both near and far, is the only way they will be able to achieve their dreams of becoming recording stars.

"We are really geared towards getting signed to a record label," Hatch said. "In other words, a record deal. It is our lifelong dream, and ultimate goal. We would also love to do a national tour of some sort, just to be able to share our music with the world. We have very strong ideas that we encompass in all of our songs. We would just love to positively influence people, and inspire them with hope for a better tomorrow."
