Obituary Form
The North County Times offers
two types of death notices: Paid Memorials and Non-Paid
Obituary Notices. (We also offer paid In Memoriam notices
and paid Thanks notices -- click
here for more information on those.) The basic differences
between Paid Memorials and Non-Paid Obituary Notices are:
Non-Paid Obituaries:
The information is a news story and is edited to the North
County Times' style and format. These notices can include
church/club affiliations, education, military service and
major contributions of the deceased; names of surviving
children's spouses, and number of grandchildren/great-grandchildren. It
can also include a photo.
Paid Memorials: These
notices can be written in your own words, and may include
terms such as "loving," beloved," "gone
to be with the Lord" or other terms that are not "news"
style. You may also include a picture in the Paid Memorials.
The cost of the Paid Memorials is $50 for up to 25 lines
and $1.50 per line over 25. Pictures count as 13 lines of
text.

Deadlines: The deadlines
for both paid and non-paid notices is noon for placement
the following day.
* For placement on Saturday, Sunday or Monday, information
must be received by noon Friday.
