Bakes like butter: Butter is great for baking, but it's high in fat. Now the makers of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter! have introduced a line of Cooking and Baking Sticks. The butter substitute can be used like butter in baking, but has 50 percent less saturated fat than butter, and zero trans fats and cholesterol. It sells for $2.99 per four-stick pack.
Bitty bagels: Lender's Bagel Co. has added two products: Little Lender's are miniature 9-ounce bagels with just 70 calories each. A 12-pack (in regular and cinnamon flavors) is priced at $2.59. There's also new Lender's 100 Calorie Bagels, sold in a 10-pack for $2.50. Both are available in the refrigerated section at supermarkets.
White wine aerator: Carlsbad-based Exica Inc., maker of the Vinturi Red Wine Aerator, has expanded its product line with what it calls the first-ever White Wine Aerator. Exica says it's a myth that only red wine needs aeration. The company's aerators introduce air into the wine, acting like an air-filled funnel that is held over the wine glass during a pour. Exica said aeration gives the wine a smoother taste and a better bouquet and finish. It retails for $40.
Quickie appetizers: Tyson Foods introduces two additions to its Any'tizers line of quick-prep frozen chicken snacks. Sold in multiserving, zip-sealing freezer packs, Any'tizers come in 13 varieties. The newest are Stuffed Chicken Cordon Bleu Mini and Stuffed Chicken Pepperoni Minis.
Energy ice pops: Sports drinks are now even more refreshing with Power Ice, a new frozen ice-pop version of the traditional flavored sports drink. The 1.7-ounce fat-free pops have 30 calories. They contain cane sugar, electrolytes and vitamin C, but no caffeine, high fructose corn syrup or artificial sweeteners. Power Ice, available in Lime Kicker and Orange Blast flavors, is sold in three-packs for $1.99 or a 10-pack for $5.99.
