REBUILDING WORKSHOP: The San Diego North Chamber has scheduled "Rebuilding Better Homes and Gardens" to help fire families connect with those who have the services and products they need. "Rebuilding" will be from 3-8 p.m. Jan. 10 at the Courtyard Marriott, 11611 Bernardo Plaza Court, Rancho Bernardo. The event also will offer information on building trends, homeowner association guidelines, landscape design, cost-effective energy-saving options and more. It's sponsored by SDG&E, along with Barratt, Hallmark Communities, KHovanian, North County Times, San Diego Regional Airport Authority and Stonefield Development. Breakout session topics planned are "Housing Trends," "Building Green," "HOA Compliance" and "Construction Financing." Exhibitor spaces as well as sponsorships are available. Welsh is the author of "Southern California Gardening: A Month-by-Month Guide." Learn how to choose your style, work with a color scheme, and correctly choose the right plants.
