CARLSBAD: Baseball greats help raise $65,000 for Canine Companions
The Crossings was the golf course of choice for Canine Companions for Independence on Oct. 16 for the Southwest Region's first tournament in San Diego County. The tournament, dinner and silent auction raised $65,000 and attracted 130 participants. There also was an online auction.

VISTA: Golf tourney brings in $65,000 for hospice
The Oct. 12 golf tournament benefiting Hospice of the North Coast fielded 88 golfers, including a contingent of fighter pilots from Miramar Marine Corps Air Station. When asked if the excellent eye-hand coordination required for a fighter pilot helped with golf, they all chuckled.
