Bob Burhans is head aquarium curator for Birch Aquarium at Scripps at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Burhans has been at Birch Aquarium for 23 years, where he started as a volunteer. He spends his days feeding sharks, collecting animals, cleaning tanks, repairing pumps, answering visitors' questions and diving into the aquarium's kelp tank.
