MURRIETA -- Police are looking for the perpetrators of an alleged armed robbery at a city park Saturday night, authorities said in a news release Sunday.
Murrieta officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at 9:23 p.m. at Cal Oaks Sports Park,40550 California Oaks Road, and met with one adult and three juvenile victims at a nearby residence where they had fled following the incident, Sgt. Tony Conrad said in the release.
The victims told police that three males, ages 16 to 24, accompanied by two females ages 16 to 18, approached them, with the men brandishing weapons and demanding money. The assailants fled in a 2003- to 2005-model sport utility vehicle described as or similar to a Honda Element, the release states.
No one was injured and an undetermined amount of cash was taken, Conrad said.
One suspect was described as Latino, 16 to 18 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 170 pounds. A second suspect was described as Latino, 20 to 24 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall, and 180 pounds with a shaved head. Another suspect was described as Latino or black, 18 to 21 years old and 170 pounds.
