At least 500 homes, 100 commercial properties and 50 outbuildings destroyed. Another 250 homes, 75 commercial properties and 50 outbuildings were damaged. An additional 5,000 residences, 1,500 commercial properties and 300 outbuildings are threatened in the areas of San Diego, Poway, Ramona, Escondido, Lakeside, Valley Center, San Marcos and Rancho Santa Fe. - Rice Canyon fire: 1,500 acres burned in Fallbrook, no containment. Wind is blowing flames northwest toward De Luz and downtown Fallbrook. An estimated 100 buildings burned. - Coronado Hills fire: 300 acres burned south of Cal State San Marcos, 100 percent surrounded. An unspecified number of structures were lost in Discovery Hills and San Marcos. - McCoy fire: 400 acres, 100 percent contained as of 10 p.m. Monday. The fire has destroyed one residence and is burning in the Boulder Creek/Eagle Peak area of Cleveland National Forest. - Harris fire: 25,000 acres burned in southeast San Diego County. The fire, near Highway 94 and Harris Ranch Road in the Portrero area, is 5 percent contained. One person has died and 22 people —— including five firefighters —— have been injured. Five hundred homes and 100 outbuildings are threatened.
