SAN MARCOS -- An autopsy Thursday on music legend Ike Turner failed to show a cause of death and the pending results of toxicology tests could take up to 90 days, the county medical examiner's office announced Thursday.
The 76-year-old San Marcos resident and rock 'n' roll pioneer was pronounced dead at his home in the 900 block of Viewpoint Drive at 11:38 a.m. Wednesday. No foul play was suspected.
The autopsy cleared the way for a mortuary to be chosen by Turner's children, who were listed as Tawana, Mia, Ike Jr., Ronny and Michael Turner. However, no mortuary was chosen as of Thursday night, the medical examiner's office said.
No other details were released.
