CARLSBAD -- Carlsbad State Beach was closed to swimmers Sunday after a sewage spill the day before, according to officials.
Signs warning against swimming were posted from Palomar Airport Road to the breakwater, according to an Internet announcement from the county's department of environmental health.
Swimming would be permitted once test showed bacteria level in the water had returned to a safe level, the report said.
The report said the spill occurred Saturday evening, but no additional details were given. County officials could not be reached for comment.
