CARLSBAD - Music, craft projects and other kid-friendly activities are planned at today's Fall Festival at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park.
The free event is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the ranch, ,6200 Flying LC Lane, which is near the intersection of Melrose Drive and Carrillo Way. Extra parking is available at Carrillo Elementary School.
The historic park was once home to Hollywood actor Leo Carrillo, who is perhaps best known for his role as Pancho in "The Cisco Kid" TV series from the 1950s. This year's theme for the fall party is "Mexican-American fiesta," the city reports.
Live mariachi music, folklorico dancers, art projects and a family fun zone are planned. Tastes of the chili produced by competitors in the Hometown Chili Cook-off are available for a fee.
For festival information, call (760) 476-1042, or visit www.CarlsbadConnect.org.
