Man made off with cash, car
CARLSBAD -- Police are searching for a robber who punched a front-desk clerk in the face early Sunday before making off with the woman's car and an undisclosed amount of cash from the Tamarack Beach Resort.
Shortly before 4 a.m., the robber walked into a back room of the lobby and punched the clerk, a woman in her 60s, in the face, police said.
After hitting the woman, the robber demanded to know where he could find the resort's cash, the woman's car keys and her car, police said.
The robber escaped with all three.
He is described as white, in his 20s, approximately 5'8", wearing a dark T-shirt and shorts at the time of the robbery.
The victim's car is a maroon 1998 Saturn SLR2 with a California license plate 4BPV789.
Police did not provide information about the victims injuries or how much cash was stolen from the resort.
