Fallbrook seniors planning trips
FALLBROOK -- The Fallbrook Seniors plan these trips over the next few months. Sign up in the senior center office or by calling (760) 728-4498, (760) 723-7469 or (760) 728-6537:
- Aug. 25: Valley View Casino, Valley Center. This trip is $20, including the driver's tip, $15 Moreplay on one's Players Card, movie and water. Free buffet for first-time sign ups and for August birthdays. Everyone must have a current picture ID in case of winning a large jackpot. Payment due upon sign-up; no refunds after Aug. 15, unless a replacement is found. Forty-seven people are needed for this trip. Departure from the center is at 8:30 a.m. and the bus leaves the casino at 2:30 p.m.
- Buffalo Bill's -- Stateline: A trip to the home of the monster roller coaster is planned for Sept. 22, 23 and 24. This is a new venue and will include a six-hour side trip to Las Vegas on Sept. 23. Cost is $75 per person, double occupancy and $90 single. Includes A/C transportation, two meals, baggage handling (1 bag), bingo, movie, snack, water and the side trip to Las Vegas. The bus will leave the senior center at 8 a.m. Sept. 22, and leave the casino at 11 a.m. Sept. 24, with rest stops at Barstow both ways.
- Palm Springs Follies: Reservations are being accepted for the Oct. 26 show for $82. This includes deluxe A/C bus transportation and the show ticket, a snack, water and a movie. Lunch is on your own, with time for gambling at the casino before the show. The bus leaves the senior center at 8:30 a.m.; be there by 8 a.m. for a snack and return home by 7 p.m.
Day camp sessions continue
FALLBROOK -- The Fallbrook Community Center Day Camp combines traditional camp activities such as crafts and field trips with lessons on how to stay healthy. The weeklong sessions blend sports programs, yoga classes and healthy cooking demonstrations with outings to some of the county's popular attractions including the San Diego Zoo, Legoland and the Wave Waterpark. The camp is for children 6-12 and sessions will continue through Aug. 18. Hours are 7 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays and the cost is $124. Extended care is available until 6 p.m. for an additional $25. Auditions being held for show
FALLBROOK -- Fallbrook Players are holding auditions for "Noises Off." With breakneck pace and a rich gallery of characters, Michael Frayn's witty farce follows the on-and off-stage antics of a touring company as they stumble from dress rehearsal to disastrous last night of the farcical comedy, "Nothing On." Directed by Rob Wolter. Auditions are from 6-9 p.m. July 29 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1620 Stage Coach Lane. Open to actors 18 and over.
