In California, the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test for high school students was given in October. The test is given so students and parents can see results and improve where needed prior to the Scholastic Aptitude Test, which is given in the spring. The Palomar College GEAR UP program held PSAT information workshops prior to the test. GEAR UP is an early college intervention program for high school students. The test fee of $18 was paid for by GEAR UP. Above, Christian Cura, standing center, GEAR UP outreach coordinator for Vista High School, conducts the PSAT presentation. To learn more, visit www.palomar.edu/gearup or call Director Calvin One Deer Gavin at (760) 744-1150.
