Military briefs: Military officers to meet

CAMP PENDLETON -- The Joseph H. Pendleton Chapter of The Military Order of the World Wars will meet March 25 at the San Luis Rey Officers Club. Attitude adjustment hour is 11 a.m., lunch at noon and guest speaker at 1 p.m. Cost of lunch is $12.50 per person. Entrees are corned beef and cabbage or fish and chips. All active duty, retired and former officers and warrant officers from all branches of service and their guests are invited. For reservations, call (760) 724-4393.

Second Infantry Division members sought

The Second (Indian Head) Division Association is seeking individuals who served in the Second Infantry Division at any time. For information about the association and its upcoming reunion, write to Bill Creech, P.O. Box 460, Buda, Texas 78610.

Callaway donates golf equipment to Marines

CARLSBAD -- Callaway Golf Company announced it will sponsor Marine Corps Morale Welfare and Recreation activities by providing a large quantity of clubs to benefit service persons. The clubs will be distributed to six Marine Corps bases and air stations in the western United States. The sponsorship is part of the ongoing Callaway Golf program of support for all branches of the armed forces.

The Marine Corps installations -- Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Miramar, Yuma, Barstow and 29 Palms -- each will receive a proportionate amount of the assortment of drivers, fairway woods and irons, as well as dozens of golf balls. The Marine Corps Community Services office will oversee the usage of the equipment by Marines and Navy personnel stationed at each base.
