In Sunday's editorial, "Foreclosure senseless in ranch's case," The Californian incorrectly named London-based HSBC as the holder of a mortgage on a ranch in Meadowbrook whose owner was being foreclosed on and evicted.
Florida-based Ocwen Financial Group manages HSBC's mortgages in the United States and has full control over them. Late Friday, Ocwen informed the ranch's owner, Renee Duncan, that it would delay foreclosure proceedings for an undetermined amount of time.
We apologize.
