Law enforcement officers cited 13 taxi and limousine drivers Friday night and Saturday morning in a coastal city crackdown prompted by complaints from law-abiding cab and limo drivers, a San Diego sheriff's deputy said Saturday.
Four other drivers were given warnings during the crackdown, which ran from 11 p.m to 3 a.m. in Encinitas, Solana Beach and Del Mar, Deputy David DiCarlo said in a press release.
The multi-agency crackdown included officials from the California Public Utilities Commission and a Solana Beach code enforcement officer, he said.
The operation also netted one person suspected of drunken driving and another person thought to have been drunk in public, DiCarlo said.
