Thirteen people were arrested and two others were cited during an alcohol enforcement operation over the St. Patrick's Day holiday in Encinitas, Del Mar and Solana Beach, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
The purpose of the operation was to target alcohol-related crimes, said Deputy Dave Perkins. It was funded through a grant from the state Department of Alcohol Beverage Control.
The arrests were for alleged public intoxication and the two citations were for smoking in public, Perkins said. The operation lasted from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 3 a.m. Thursday.
