Extra drunk driving enforcement is scheduled from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 3:30 a.m Thursday in Encinitas, Solana Beach and Del Mar areas, San Diego County Sheriff's Department officials said Tuesday.
At least three patrol units will be looking for impaired drivers at undisclosed locations, officials said.
Officers will confiscate vehicles driven by unlicensed drivers or people driving with a suspended license and hold the vehicles in storage for 30 days at the driver's expense, officials said, adding that storage could cost up to $1,500.
Officials asked people to report drunken drivers by calling 911 and telling the operator the vehicle's make, model, license plate number and where they saw the vehicle.
