ENCINITAS -- A statewide sting against unlicensed contractors netted a local man who could face felony charges, the Contractors State License Board said in a press release Thursday.
Undercover investigators say they lured Gerald Thissen, 51, to Tulare County, where he on Monday gave an estimate of $300,000 to $400,000 for a job, according to the board. The agency said it believes the Encinitas resident has accepted $250,000 in fees while working without a license.
Thissen was one of 107 contractors arrested Tuesday and Wednesday for working without a license, the agency said. Also arrested was a man who said he bought a fake drivers license, a social-security card and a resident-alien card at a flea market.
