ESCONDIDO -- Three young people in ski masks took a bag of potato chips after flashing a pocket knife at a convenience store clerk Friday, an Escondido police lieutenant said.
The clerk told police that when the three masked people, who appeared to be children or teenagers, entered the Go Mart in the 100 block of West El Norte Parkway shortly before 7:30 p.m., he told them to leave, Lt. David Mankin said.
As the clerk approached them, one pulled out a small pocket knife and said, "Get back." The clerk again ordered them to leave, Mankin said. The three ran out of the store, one grabbing a bag of chips on the way.
