ESCONDIDO -- The Mexican Consulate in San Diego is set to host a health fair and mobile consular office in Escondido Saturday.
At the health fair, various health organizations will provide information in Spanish and free health exams, including dental exams, HIV testing, cholesterol and diabetes screenings.
Consular officials will also be available to provide information about the San Diego office's various services. Mexican identifications cards, known as matriculas in Spanish, will only be processed for those who have made prior appointments.
This is the Mexican consulate's third visit to North County in twelve months. A spokesman for the office said the mobile office program provides an opportunity for Mexicans to access its services, such as legal advice, and process government documents, such as passports.
The health fair and mobile office will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Escondido's Santa Maria Parish, 1160 S. Broadway.
