ESCONDIDO ---- A 65-year-old Poway man died Sunday after his motorcycle slammed into the back of a car stalled on Interstate 15, according to the medical examiner's office.
The motorcyclist, who was not named because his family had not been notified, was going north on the freeway just north of Via Rancho Parkway about 9:15 a.m. when he hit a stalled Volkswagen Jetta, the medical examiner's office said. The helmeted rider was thrown from his bike.
The man was rushed to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido but pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating.
