CAMP PENDLETON -- Two troops from Camp Pendleton's 1st Marine Logistics Group died this week from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident in the Iraqi city of Karma, a base spokesman said Friday.
Circumstances surrounding the accident that claimed the two unidentified enlisted men were not immediately available, said Lt. Ken Kunze, a Marine Corps spokesman.
A third Marine also was in the vehicle, but survived, Kunze said. The type of vehicle they were in also was unavailable.
The identities of the deceased will be released by the Pentagon after their next of kin have been notified.
Karma is a city of about 118,000 people located 15 miles from the city of Fallujah in central Iraq. About 11,000 local Marines and sailors are serving this year.
