Planning Commissioner and incumbent top their picks
MURRIETA -- Murrieta City Council candidates Randon Lane and Doug McAllister have received the endorsements of the Murrieta Police Officers Association and Murrieta Firefighters Association, the groups announced Tuesday.
Lane received the endorsements because he has gone on ride-alongs with officers and firefighters to broaden his understanding of their work, and has expressed an understanding of how economics affect crime rates, a press release from the associations states.
McAllister received the endorsement because he has shown strong leadership during his time on the council and has kept public safety a priority during his term, the release states.
Lane, a 39-year-old planning commissioner, and McAllister, a 49-year-old incumbent, are among seven candidates seeking two seats with four-year terms on the council in November.
Other candidates are high school teacher Paul Clay, 50; incumbent and electrical contractor Warnie Enochs, 59; local publisher Nancy Knight, 64; management consultant David Landriscina, 53; and day care investor Emilia Rychener, 38, a write-in candidate.
